Poem by Boaz

Much music fills my home this time of year,

But this season there is one voice not there.

A laugh was heard so genuine and clear,

But now there is no song to give me care.

Her smile, to me, was like a morning’s dawn.

That image dawns a new kind of mourning.

Stil through this suffering we will go on

Her memory are my walls adorning.

I find myself seeing her smile in me.

Her song is gone yet I still hear her voice.

In her passing I find in me her glee.

Through me, more than ever, she can rejoice.

My cheerful grandma Dawn is not now here,

Yet this season I feel her presence near.

Like the Dawn of the Morning

Like the Dawn of Morning

The closer I got to grandma's house,

the happier I felt,

It was like the dawn of morning,

We left in the sad night skies of long car rides

Bothering brothers

Wi-Fi less cell phones,

But we arrived with warm blankets

Bright smiles

Cheerful laughs

……..and Shining pennies

The more I talked with Grandma

The happier I felt,

It was like the dawn of morning

I started with long nights of stress

Hard rains of problems

And hopeless projections of tomorrow

But we talked about glowing families

Sunny feelings

Clear solutions

And promising futures

When I think about Grandma

It is like the dawn of morning

It starts with destructive ‘why’ questions

Crushing tears

And fierce and clashing feelings

But then I think of re building relations

Tears of joy

Future reunions

And it is all thanks to the dawn of one glorious sunday morning.

Celebrating Dawn

Celebrating the life of a remarkable woman. She lived a life of service, a life of laughter and a life of love. She was gracious to all she met, she never had an unkind word about anyone, she lit the world with her love of Christ and testimony of the Plan of Salvation. She is now free from her walker, her oxygen tube and her weak ankles. She is dancing with her sweetheart, getting to know her mother who passed when Dawn was just 18 months old, and getting to know her son Jeffrey who passed the day after he was born. Her reunion is joyful with her dad, her sister and her step mom. We will miss her, but we are sure she is happy in this new existence of light and family.
