Three of six completed. :)

I have six baby quilts that I am rushing to get done. I also have Willa's last Christmas quilt to get done. And I have Brenda's Wedding Quilt to do. That is not even starting to think about this coming Christmas Quilt to do.

But . . .

I have the first three baby quilts completed. Yes!

This first one is for Annie. She is already seven weeks old. She is so cute I could just hold her for ever. I got to hold her on Sunday, I wasn't very good at sharing that day. :) Her brother, who is 4 -- maybe, told me that I couldn't hold her. I said that I knew her daddy and then asked if that was okay. He was not convinced.

Courtney chose the colors. I had to think a bit about what block to do. Then I just went with speed and did the log cabin. One of my favorite blocks. It is fast, easy, and beautiful.

This next quilt is for Paisley. She is almost two weeks old. When I heard her name, I headed to the store to find some cute paisley fabric. The colors are unusual for a baby quilt, but I think it turned out great.

I like piecing the backs. In this last picture you can kind of see the hearts in each of the blocks. I went with larger blocks to be able to see the paisley fabric better. With a pattern, I've found out it is good to use big blocks.

I took this into the quilt store today to show the shop lady who helped me pick out the fabric. She was happy to see the completed project. I'm a bit shameless in showing off the quilts when they are done -- obviously.

This next quilt was very hard to get started on. I've had the fabric for almost a year and a half. I knew I wanted the circles, but I was afraid of them. I think this quilt has been the source of my quilter's block. Once I got started on it, it was like the flood gates opened. I have been sewing for three weeks straight.

This is Nora's Quilt. Nora was still born over three years ago. So I wanted white circles. White for the angel in heaven and circles for eternity. Soft pink for a little girl.

I have four different white fabrics. Each fabric is used on one side of the border. The circles were not as hard as I was afraid they were going to be. That is good. It came together so quickly I was a bit ashamed of myself for putting it off for so long.

Nora's little sister will make her appearance in August. That gives me just a bit of time to start quilting Willa's quilt. Wish me luck.

Happy Father's Day

Josh and Boaz each made Craig a Tootsie Pop boutonniere last week in Primary. He wore one on each lapel.

I live with some cute boys. :)

Cub Scout Day Camp

Boaz was so happy to be able to attend Day Camp this year. He has attended other years, but that was when Josh was the cub scout. Now it is his turn to do all the projects, crafts and stations.

This first picture is part of our troop listening to the leader.

Boaz figuring out the compound bow.

A little one on one time with the Range Boss. Working on aiming.

His first time with the BB gun. He loaded, cocked and shot the gun all ten times. His target remained untouched. I was proud of him. He listened to the instructor and did everything he was told to do.

Next time we'll work on aiming. :)

Boaz's style

Josh has glasses. He has a thiner wire frame than is practical. As a result we are often at the doctor's office getting his glasses straightened out.

Boaz, in these multiple visits, has found some glasses that he loves. Every time we go, he looks for them and wears them for a few minutes while we wait for the optician to save Josh's glasses.

Boaz thinks he looks cool. I think he looks cute. He still loves to mug for the camera. :)

I waited 8 years.

I've been meaning to post this as well.

So, eight years ago, Craig blessed Boaz.

I don't know about you, but as a mom there are some things I look for in a blessing. You know the strong and healthy, follow the Holy Ghost and grow up to be a good person, and the whole getting married in the temple thing.

Well, there was no mention of taking a sweet girl to the temple in the blessing 8 years ago.

And, with a one month old baby, I was still very hormonal. I've always had a tendency to be a bit dramatic. So, I started thinking that my little Saturday's Warrior would be killed in a war and wouldn't have time to get married.

Well, that was not a happy thought, so I have stuffed it away and refused to think about it. I have focused on just enjoying my Bozie.

When Craig got up to confirm him, I tried to just focus on the blessings. And then I remembered my eight year old fear. I thought to myself, that that is just a blessing thing. They don't say that in the confirmation. I'm just being silly.

And then I heard Craig say that Boaz will take a girl to the temple and get sealed.

I knew that Heavenly Father had him say that just for me. I took a deep breath and let that silly weight just fall away.

It really is silly the things that I think at times. But I am grateful that He took that almost forgotten fear away for me.

Craig didn't even know that I was thinking that. He was just happy to be there with his brothers, his dad and my brother-in-law. The members of the circle were Craig, Mark, Brad, Ron, Pete, and the Bishop.

People who came to celebrate with us: Deb, Raven, Willa, Kayla, Alysa, Peter, Cyri, Bridger, Mark, Kris, Ashlyn, Bowen, Tayvan, Brad, Ron, Dawn. We are grateful for all the well wishes of those that couldn't make it but wanted to.

It was truly a good day.

Cinco loves me.

I know this because he brought me a dead mouse.

I told him he was a good boy. Once he dropped the mouse I let him in the house. I petted him and cooed at him for a bit.

Then I took a paper towel -- folded multiple times -- and picked up the small rodent and threw him in the outside garbage. :) Then I washed my hands really, really, really good.

Lost keys

I have been meaning to write about this for a week.

Craig lost his keys. The ones that have the key to the car. Since the car was here, we knew the keys were here too. There was also some of the keys to his work. That was the bad part. We had a spare key to the car, not so much to work.

First I know is he rushes into the room where I am and tells me that I need to help him find his keys and then he rushes back out.

I have no idea where he has been. I'm getting the boys ready for school. It was almost the last day. So I'm worried about lunches and the kitty litter box and just getting done from my work out.

I find him and ask him if he's prayed about. "I already have" he tells me.

He grabs the spare key and takes Josh to school before he heads into work.

I look in the obvious places: his pants, the drawer where we keep the keys, under the bed, on the table by the bed. Then I look in the not so obvious places: the fridge, the freezer, under the couches in the clothes hamper, in the kitchen garbage ( I took the liner out and felt through the garbage bag) in some of his coats (it had been warm enough not to need the coats or jackets).

Stumped, I went in to take my shower. I still had to go to work. While I was in there, I remembered a plant had been knocked over by the front steps. I noticed it when I took Boaz to the bus.

I got dressed, did my face and went and looked at that spot. I was sure I would find the keys and then I could take them to Craig before work. I'd be a bit late, but it would be all good. Quite frankly, I was feeling a bit superior about getting an answer to prayer, just like the other two recent times when I had lost something. I mean isn't that what prayer is all about?

The keys were not there.

I was surprised.

I was disappointed.

I wondered that what had worked before was not working now.

I was worried.

I went to work. I pondered. I prayed. I thought of hiding places. I told my friend and she told me to go home and look. The thing was, I already had and didn't know where else to look.

After work, I looked in all those places again. I thought about the big garbage can, but didn't really want to dumpster dive in that mess.

Craig came home and I couldn't tell him that I had found them.

We stopped looking in every nook and cranny for the lost keys. Craig said they would turn up.

The next weekend Boaz was getting baptized. My sister, Deb, was driving up to celebrate Boaz's big day. They got to the house about two in the morning. I grabbed my robe and welcomed her and Raven to our home. I had fresh sheets on the bed ready and waiting for them. Craig followed me out in his robe. We said good night to Deb and Raven and I turned to follow Craig back into the bedroom and he shook his pocket and it jingled. The keys were safe in the pocket of the robe.

I can say, whether immediately or later, that God does answer prayers.

Did you know . . .

According to Boaz:

"Dolls and action figures are completely different."

Boaz got baptized.

The night before, we put the towels in the bag. I ran to Walmart to find white underwear. I had been baking all day and made two chocolate cream pies and caramel brownies. Craig showed Boaz how to bend his knees and hold his nose and they talked about keeping eyes closed in the water.

When we had all the bases covered, Boaz told us he was going to bed so the morning would get here sooner. He has waited for this day for a very long time. He had the missionary discussions with our lovely ward missionaries the previous month and he had his interview and he was set to go.

Auntie Debbie and Raven came up from Salt Lake. They arrived late at night. Auntie Willa, Uncle Pete, Kayla and Alysa came up from Salt Lake too. They had a flat tire and had to get it fixed before they could finish the journey. We are grateful that they were able to make it.

Uncle Mark, Aunt Cyri and Bridger came. Uncle Brad, Aunt Kris, Ashlyn, Bowen, and Tayven came too. Aunt Kris told us that she was thinking of Tyson in Mexico on his mission and how he might be doing the same thing that very day.

Grandma and Grandpa Oswald came. And we had well wishes from those that couldn't make it, but wanted to be able to come.

I was planning on getting many more pictures than this, but the camera didn't come out again. I thought Craig looked handsome in his whites. :) Boaz was one of four baptisms that day. I got to say a few words about him.

Boaz was born with a believing heart. He is a happy spirit. When we have bad days, he is there to give us hugs and loves and make our day brighter. He has never doubted that Jesus and Heavenly Father are there for us and that They love us. His testimony - a new word for him - is as old as he is. He loves his brother, Josh, and wants to do everything that Josh does. Sometimes that is fun, and sometimes not so much. I love being his mother and am very blessed to have him as my son.

Our little family before the meeting started. (We missed having Thea there.)

Craig with his brothers Mark and Brad.

I wanted pictures with everybody and planned to take them after, but the camera never made it back out again.

We are grateful for all those that came, and grateful for the well wishes of those that wanted to come and couldn't make it.
