Another one done

I like the pink and brown. I like the Churn Dash block. A happy quilt for a sweet girl who is almost here.

Now I have two more baby quilts in the works.

I am looking at blue fabrics and wondering about block selection.

Welcoming babies is wonderful.

Miss Kayla is home.

Kayla with one of her companions. She flew in from CA to surprise her. Love that. :)

A bounty of yellow ribbions. Welcome home Sister Knight.

Saying "Hi"

I stopped to say hi to Dad in Logan.

I miss him.

Logan

I headed to Utah for the weekend and decided to go through Logan. Craig and the boys stayed in Idaho. They had chores to do -- unpacking Craig's folks in their new apartment.

I took some time to walk around the Logan temple. I had never been this close to this temple.

I was intrigued by the colored stones cemented into bricks. It is lovely.

I love that nature is part of each temple. The greens and reds are wonderful. My favorite color combinations.

minus 11 years

The guy at the bank just asked me if I was 34.

34!

That is eleven years younger than my actual age.

Today I will be 34 years old -- all day!

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Nature's bounty

I have been freezing tomatoes. They are yummy in soups. My little boys complain, but my big boy loves it.

They do tend to take up space.

I was wondering what else I could do with them.

Can them is the obvious answer. But I don't really get enough all at once for that. And that sounds like a huge job.

Yesterday I had the idea to learn how to oven dry tomatoes. I looked online and found a recipe.

So here they are. I had them in the oven all night and they are beautiful. :)

I didn't find the cats last night

I looked for the cats. I looked under beds and in window sills. I looked under couches and behind couches. But I gave up and went to bed.

Craig is out of town.  He headed to St. George last night with his brother and nephew. They are packing up his parents house ready to move everything to Idaho Falls.

I stayed up crocheting a pink bootie for my neighbor. (I have to finish the other one today.) Her sweet girl is so tiny. I love babies. :)

I was just too tired to find the kitties.

This morning Boaz came and got me just as I was telling my self it was time to get up.

The kitties had been locked in the downstairs bathroom.

All night long.

Without the litter box.

They had used the sink. It was relatively easy to clean. It wasn't tracked around. But even after cleaning the sink over an hour ago, I can still smell it.

I think I will have to wash the bathroom mats and get out the steamer for the floor and clean every surface.

I was going to finish the bootie today and a baby quilt for my nephew and his wife. I was going to look at my blue fabric and get going on a blue baby quilt. I was going to read a book. I was going to do anything but clean the downstairs bathroom.

It won't take all day. I can still do the things I was going to do. But every time I come downstairs I can smell cat.

A wedding quilt

Deb and I have been working on this for a bit. It hasn't been quite a year. Actually, Deb did most of it. I did not quite half the blocks and she put it together and then quilted most of it. I helped her quilt the last 10 blocks or so and then we sewed the binding. She took it home and hand-sewed the binding.

We have a year to get Brenda's done. And then Karly's. The family is growing. Crazy. But I love it.

9 months later

Debbie's quilt is finally done. This was for last Christmas. I called it "The Light That Shines in the Darkness."

She has been having a rough time, and I wanted her to remember that it isn't always going to be so bleak.

I'll be headed to SLC this weekend, and she can have it then.

I need to get going on this year's Christmas quilt. :)

The bride and groom

They look so happy. I really like Tim. I'm glad to welcome him to our crazy family. And he seems brave enough and in love enough to accept us.

The last kiss as single people.

A new family unit. Facing the future with faith, hope and love.

Family

This is the first time we have all been together since my dad's funeral. That has been about 6 1/2 years ago. Boaz was only 6 months old last time.

They tried to scare her. They succeeded a bit. She didn't really want to do the pose, but she was too happy to complain much.

Thea

Craig was so excited to see Thea. It has been way to long.

She is such a good girl, a woman really. She is all registered for her second year in college. We were excited, right along with her, when she was able to get into Chemistry. Now she can get the classes she needs. Chem 105 is a pre-req for everything else she needs to take.

Craig and Thea ran around a bit on Saturday while I was bonding with my siblings.

Tinkerbell

Joe hated the nickname, but he was the only one brave enough to climb the tree and light more than 1o votive candles in hanging jars.

With his efforts, the back yard completed its transformation into a romantic wedding venue.
