Christmas treats

Our lovely Home Teacher brougt us the message and a treat today. It's sweet Chex mix.

I went in for a new handful, and Josh said, "It's so addicting. It's like nicotene, excepts it's not bad for you."

Okay, he's nine. What does he know about nicotene, and where did he learn it?

My little wise man

The sunbeams and CTR 5's put on the nativity this year at our ward activity. What could be cuter than a 5 year old Mary skipping around in a circle as Joseph knocks on three different (same) inns looking for lodging. Why, my little magi, of course.

Here he seems to be in a zen moment. Very eastern, he's into the character.

Visiting Santa

Boaz didn't want to sit on his lap. He also didn't know what he wanted to ask Santa. I was hoping for knowledge with this visit.

Josh didn't want to even talk to Santa, but he wanted the candy cane more. So he followed Boaz's lead and just stood by him. I knew what he wanted, of course. Somehow as they get older, their wants are more known, and more expensive.

new quilt

I have completed a new quilt. Yea! I call it "Hugs from Oregon." Sometimes we are just too far away to be where we would like to be.

I pieced the back with the extra fabric. This one turned out a bit hectic, but with the neutrals, reds and blues -- it seems to work okay.

There are 32 different ties, and 12 complete rail fence blocks. :)

My label.

Scarey question

My five year old son, Boaz, asked me a question as he got out of the tub.

"Mom, what if today was my wedding day?"

I froze and my heart stood still, just for a moment.

Turkey Day offerings

It's been a few years since I cooked the turkey. It came out beautiful. I prepared the boys plates and thought they were lovely. Sadly, the boys were not impressed with my efforts. Hopefully, as they grow, they will be able to appreciate good food.

I don't think they liked one thing on their plate. And I didn't even try and put the stuffing on there. :)

Happily, the adults all enjoyed dinner.

Watching Saturday Football

A dream come true for a big sports fan. His two boys are actually sitting down with him while he is watching a football game. And, they are talking about what is going on in the game. They are learning about first and ten, offense and defense and goals and extra points. How could life possibly get any better?
