Block of the month

I'm 2 months behind on this block. I now have to do last month's block and this month's block. I like the cattails though.

Being early

They all beat me to the Church, and I was still about 30 minutes early. It was a good thing.

Josh's baptism

Wow! I can't believe that he is old enough to be baptised.

We loved having company. Thank you to all who came, and thank you to all who wished that they could have come.

The lightsaber

Josh was happy to get his lightsaber. He has discovered Star Wars. He knows almost more about the movies than I do. Almost, but not quite.

Happy Birthday Josh

Karly helped me blow up hundreds of water balloons. My fingers hurt and I had to find a new way to tie them off.

They humored me and played my games before the big water balloon fight.

They didn't last for the movie, and I shooed them outside to play and get the wiggles out.

Kate, Scot and the kids

We had a great time visiting with Kate and Scot. We played Apples to Apples and Clue. What a great way to relax and catch up with good friends.

Their dogs loved to play with our boys and Blue begged for Craig to scratch the right spot. Fun and happy dogs.

A great visit to wonderful people.

At a few of the sights

We stopped at a beautiful waterfall. I thought I would get it in the background, but still the trees turned out beautiful. The family is pretty cute too.

The boys of course have to be goofy. Boaz was really disturbed by the smell of sulfur. I loved Mammoth Springs. It's amazing to me to see the evidence of it growing.

The plants were right up to the water of the spring. When the spring took over an area, the trees and plants died from the inside out. I was facinated to see green healthy growth right next to the orange water of the hot spring. And then to see where the spring had been and receeded.

It was way cool. I took 125 pictures, but I had to choose which ones to post. Fun memories -- Craig and I would love to go through the park on a motorcycle. We'll have to put that on our to do list.

This time, it was fun to see the kids respond to the park. We saw lots of elk, to the point that Thea and Josh thought that it was just more elk. We saw a few lone bison. We saw an eagle and an osprey. We think we saw some pronghorn. And we saw lots of Canadian geese. And of course we saw lots of trees and water.

We also saw lots of people taking pictures. Craig and Thea were joking about pulling over and getting out the camera and feeding a garbage can. Just to see how many people would stop to see what we were looking at. (But that is how we saw the bald eagle.) And we did notice cars pulling over to see what we were looking at when we weren't looking at anything at all.

I noticed all the different license plates, and was heavily mocked I must say. But license plate bingo would have been a fun game. I'm going to have to make up game boards for the next big trip we take.
