Crazy Hair Day

He wanted a different color, but white was the only color that I already had and knew where it was.

He stood still for the color and the regular hairspray for the sides.

By the time he came home, all the color was rubbed out. But he had fun. And that is the whole point of crazy hair day. :)

Seagulls -- by Josh

Sea gulls get blamed for pooping on people.
A deed that doesn't need any sequel.
It comes from up on high as a steeple.
Man! A sensation that has no equal.

Milking it.

On a rather mild winter day -- we have been experiencing Western Oregon type winters here in Idaho -- my boy bundled up and approached me.

He wanted hot chocolate.

I told him yes, but wait while I get my camera.

Silly goof. :)

Recognition

Today was fast Sunday.

The people that got up had so much to tell. So much encouragement to give. So much faith in the face of fear and trials.

I am grateful.

Grateful for my life.

Grateful for my family.

Grateful for the gospel.

Grateful for fast Sundays where I can realize the blessings I do have and see the strength that is all around me.

Temple Day

This morning I went to the temple. I didn't plan very well. I just missed the 9 am session.

I didn't want to rush and miss the peace.

I was one of the first in the assembly room for the 10 am session. I picked up the Bible and read the story Jacob and Leah and Rachel. To me it is so sad. Poor Leah -- in a life long competition with her younger, prettier sister. I don't think she ever came out on top.

As the time came to move into the session, I looked and was surprised to see the assembly room full. Full of people in white with clear, happy faces.

There were 5 or 6 groups that were there. So being one of the first in, I was one of the last out.

I don't know why I get irritated at stuff like that.

I told myself to settle down and enjoy the temple.

I managed to, it was a fleeting irritation.

It turned to wonder as the temple workers rose to the happy challenge of a full session in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Those session rooms are huge, and they had to bring in extra chairs.

I am ashamed of the moment of irritation, but so grateful for the wonder and peace of seeing so many dedicated people in the same place.

I am grateful for the time to meditate and ponder and pray.

I do love to see the temple. ;)
