I love General Conference

I love General Conference. I love being able to sit at home and watch the prophets and apostles. I love to listen to their words of wisdom and counsel. I love feeling the spirit and having my heart be touched. I'm not too keen on crying for two days, but I will endure that part of for the rest.

One talk that touched my heart is from Elder Cook. His little boy had to tell his mother, "I hope you know, we had a hard time." I think I will use that in my prayers from now on. I loved listening to President Monson. Life is speeding up for me, I have a hard time understanding how truely fast it will become in the future. But I know that it will. I hope I will live in the moment more and that if the Lord has an errand that He will know that Wendy Oswald will run it for Him. I hope to incorporate that in my prayers as well. I hope to have a long time to practise that one, for I'm sure that I will need it.

There are too many things to remember. I love that the Ensign will come and I will be able to study and learn anew the counsil. That I will be able to pitch my tent at the temple and hear the words of the Lord today.

Josh sat through two sessions and worked on a Conference booklet. He happily numbered how many times prayer was referenced. He decoded the secret message. He tried really hard to pay attention. I remembered the times that I sat and colored during Conference when I was a child. I hope that he learns to love Conference as much as I do.

Boaz didn't have any interest in coloring the pages from the booklet, but when asked he could tell me that the man speaking was President Monson. And then he skipped happily from the room to watch the other TV. I get anxious, and I try to remember that I mustn't pull up the plants to check on the condition of the roots.

Tomorrow the world will start again, and I'll have to pack up the rest of the house and say goodbye to my beautiful home. We've loved the five years that we've spent here. But I know that I will love the time I spend in my next home too. Home is were family is.

I also LOVE general conference! There is an abundance of feeling the spirit, tears, and wet hankies. I wonder, in bewilderment, how will I remember all of this? But then I remember the Ensign, and wait impatiently for it's arrival.
Wendy, thanks so much for sharing your sweet testimony. You are an inspiration to me, always. :)

General Conference rocks!!!

We are also working on the "inspire, not require" method of teaching our children to love conference--it is hard to be patient! But when a child randomly asks a question about a story being told, or recognizes an article of faith being quoted, I am hopeful.

I agree with Brenda, too . . . thank goodness for the Ensign, and I hope they hurry up with it this time! :)

My Wendy, my ever inspiring Wendy! Thank you for mentioning all the things that touched you. I love conference so much.

I LOVED that you mentioned Boaz and said you need to remember not to pull up the plants to check on the roots. I needed to hear that. Sometimes, as a mom, I get in the way of myself and "pull up the plants" instead of trusting myself and the Lord. Out of everything -that touched me the most ---and it wa sa reminder from YOU.

You are just great. And, I had no idea you guys were moving! Where -when -and I feel for you I am not big on change.

We are moving to Brenda's town. We will be one & a half miles from her house. We'll be renting at first. But it will be wonderful to be so close. I'm looking forward to Sunday dinners and outings to the beach and all kinds of stuff.
